Presently, Bark does not provide any means of controlling a device or prohibiting access to content - though we will alert you if your child engages in anything potentially harmful to them, like Cyberbullying, Sexual Content, Suicidal Ideation, and more. You receive alerts via email, text, and/or in-app along with a snippet of the alarming conversation or thing. Since many manufacturers have those control features built-in to the devices (and Free!), we’ve focused on what we do best: alerting you about worrisome content on your child’s device(s) and online accounts.
In the meantime, I’d like to suggest a few features for iOS devices and Android that work well with Bark!
For iOS devices, Apple recently released iOS 12 for their devices that has some really awesome features that allow you to control your child’s screen time, website usage, which apps you’d like for your child to use at certain times, block certain content etc.
We wrote this article that gives you more insight on how to setup these controls: https://help.bark.us/en/articles/2359525-how-to-set-up-screen-time-for-ios-12
For Android devices, you would be able to do a lot of the same things through Google’s parental controls, known as “Google Family Link,” see here for more information: http://help.bark.us/en/articles/3240979-how-to-set-up-google-family-link
