Does Bark monitoring still work if the VPN is turned off?

The iOS & Android installed VPN allows your child’s device’s internet traffic to pass through the VPN (think of it as passing through a tunnel) to Bark’s servers. The VPN allows the screen time settings you have in place to apply to your child’s device. It allows the internet web filtering and bedtime limits to apply to internet traffic going to your child’s device (plain speak = website & web app blocking / filtering; the VPN is a “gateway” to block internet traffic according to what you’ve set).

It also allows your child’s device to utilize location Check-Ins.

Your child’s activity is not monitored or analyzed via the VPN; monitoring is not dependent on it, only web limits & Check-ins.
